So here we are back again with our budget beauties. This one comes under 1000 . Isn’t it thrilling? The name is though often heard but less explored. So here we are with Kalimpong. The hill station City which is less crowded by the tourists but not by the Mother Nature. So here we go. Oh yeah we do have a separate blog on this you can check that out too.
So when can you go?
It’s always good to see this beauty apart from the rainy season. April, May would be blessings in the scorching heat.
Where can you stay?
Well there is no question of staying as it’s meant to be a one day affairs. Stull if you wanna stay over look for the hotels near bus stands.
How to reach there?
To reach there just come Siliguri. From there get yourself a bus ride provided by Siliguri bus services. From there in Rs. 110/- you will reach your destination.
So we reached at the bus stand. Then took the ride and came to Kalimpong. We negotiated with a taxi driver and settled a deal. He agreed to do at 1600 bucks and when it split between friends we just good to go within 400 per head. Sounds nice na!!! It’s more beautiful when you are in the ride as the cab passes by the majestic Teesta River. You fall for it.
The first destination is Deolo. It’s situated in a hill name Deolo. There’re you can stay also if you book beforehand. It has got a lovely park. And obviously our ultimate buddy Kanchenjungha is there. You can listen to the immensely talented local people singing folklores. Here they provide paragliding services. Make sure you bargain there.
Then we go to Kalimpong Science Center. It offers various scientific activities which are fun to do. It costs only 30 rupees.
After that it’s time to visit the Durga temple of Kalimpong. It’s a calm and quiet place. Then there is a big Statue of Hanuman temple. There is a park attached.
Now we visit the Lord Buddha statue and park. Though the park has nothing much in it so we move to Durpin Monastery. They have a huge collection of Tibetan books and the biggest monastery of Kalimpong.
Being restricted area you cannot take sneak peak of Army Golf Course. Certainly you can buy yourself a lunch at their canteen.
Last but not the least the Pine View Cactus Nursery, it’s a private property but they do allow entering with a ticket system. It grows various cactus around the world which you only have seen in discovery channel.
Our journey ends here. We completed it under Rs. 700/Per Head including food. Come and enjoy. Thank You For Today.
