Daringbadi – The Kashmir of Odisha

We all dream of Kashmir. Some of us remain unfortunate. But worry not we have brought to you Daringbari — the Kashmir of Odisha. Yes due to shorter altitude you would not be able to see snow capped mountain but you would not be dissatisfied. Do you know why it is called Kashmir?

When Days get shorter, temperature stars to drop you will see snow droplets on the leaves. Isn’t it mesmerizing?

So when should you go?

November to march.

How to reach there?

You can take any train which stops at Brahmpur. But try to catch up Yashbantpur. Why??

Well after Friday office you can return home and have your dinner and then take this train. You will be at Brahmpur at morning.

But all the sightseeing spots are distant. So you have to book a car for your convenience from Brahmpur to Brahmpur.

You can go Daringbari from Brahmpur in two routes. We opted for the straight ones. At first visited the river Rishiculla. There is a dilapidated palace and desolated temple. It is said the king left the Palace with a hidden Trajectory with the Kuldevta. Next in the list is Sarda dam. You can see the dam, the river valley’s bountiful beauty from the watch tower. There is temple of Devi Khunteswari. The roads are a marvelous sight with the greeneries around. We stopped at a View Point to watch the layers of the mountain. The number of hotels is very few but food is cheap.

Next day we stared to watch local beauties of Daringbari. Mandasuru Eco Tourism is Odisha’s first nature park. Very nice. You can stay at night in the cottages. You can see Magnet hill from here. Whenever helicopter goes over here it crashes. Next we visited emu zoo. You can stay at here also in the camp. Next we visited lovers point. It is basically a picnic spot in the side of river bed. Before coming here please visit Mehguma falls. But you have walk down a lot. Next is Hill View Park, broad area, full of natural bliss. In the adjacent there is Nature View Park. It is a wonderful feeling.  It has garden, orchard, and butterfly. Last we came sunset point. You cannot understand when sun will hide.

Next day we headed for Gopalpur along with we went to visit coffee and pine plantation garden. You can see black pepper and cashew nut trees too. You can buy the GI tagged organic turmeric, nuts from the government shop Rasam. Mridubondo waterfall is quite a step down but the water flow will cheer your mind. Next we went to the eastern India’s largest monastery Jirang. It has a artificial lake too. Khasarda water fall is very fierce and slippery too which justifies the name. Taptapani is self explanatory –natural hot water spring. After Taptapani deer park we decided to go Gopalpur. We had some fun at beach.

Nest morning started with watching the sun rise from the sea.  We roamed around Tampara Lake. Chilka Lake we all were excited to see this. From there took boat to visit Ghanteswari island. Finally came to Tara Tarini. This is one of the Shakti Pith, where the breasts of Goddess Satee fell off. The temples were intricately designed with old art crafts.

Now guys tell me isn’t this trip amazing? Please come and explore. See you.
